INTRODUCTION
Al-Sakeenah is a non- profit and non- political organization founded in 2015 by the collaboration of the women of a Quran class titled ‘Cover to Cover` by Ustaza Iram Zafar. Below is a brief account of what the organization is all about and what work they plan to and are currently performing.

PAST EVENTS
The organization started with one class per week on Thursdays, this class covered the topic of Quranic tafseer, and was held at Ustaza Iram Zafar’s residence in Islamabad. Expanding towards welfare work, one of the first projects to be started was the Al-Jariyah work which refers to the provision of water in areas where it is very scarce. The team basically oversees the construction of water provision devices in Rawalpindi, Punjab, Sindh and many other areas. So far Alhamdulillah we have been able to accomplish over 80 of these projects in three years. A project was started a few years ago by the name of Al Ansaar which worked to collect donations during the 2008 and 2012 earthquakes and made sure these donations reached the right places. The Safe Shelter project works to help the less fortunate people, in areas of Punjab and elsewhere, who are unable to make homes for themselves, and the Safe Shelter provides them with the means necessary to achieve that. A charity shop is set up where clothing and household items are donated, sold on discounted prices and the money is given to charity.

The events conducted by the team include Final Rites of which around fifteen lectures have been conducted in different areas to educate people about bathing and shrouding the deceased in the proper Sunnah way. An event on Depression took place as well where Ustaza Iram Zafar talked about the Islamic aspect of it and a clinical psychologist talked about the medical aspect. Moreover Ustaza Iram Zafar has given multiple lectures on multiple topics at universities and mosques. We have also invited numerous speakers including Raja Zia-ul-Haq to talk about certain topics with the audience.

PRESENT
Currently Al-Sakeenah consists of two wings; the Dawah wing which includes in depth English Quran tafseer for youth plus Quran tafseer in both Urdu and Potohari as well as assistance in study circles and the Dawah work of Masjid-e-Nabwi, multiple lectures and workshops on important thought provoking topics. Also, Al Sakeenah is starting Aqeedah Al Wastiyyah classes to make people understand the foundations of Islam thoroughly. The second wing, the Social Welfare wing, includes the Al-Jariyah water projects work, free medical advice and consultation over the phone, help in disaster stricken areas and assisting the underprivileged in the construction of houses.

FUTURE
For the future we plan on continuing and expanding our Dawah work as well as Al-Jariyah. The charity workshop which was paused due to Covid will be resumed In Shaa Allah. The tafseer class with the translation in three languages will be continued and we are looking forward to finishing that as well. We also look forward to having lectures in more universities to spread the message to the students and the youth of this country.
